books I have chosen

After some pondering, I decided to design the children's books; The BFG and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I am aware that this will be a challenge due to the popularity of the illustrator Quentin Blake but I am up to the challenge !

photography permission

Well after 3 days of drama ...I finally got permission to take a photo of the window in provost skene's house. the only problem is I am not allowed to upload it to the internet or any social networking sites so I'm afraid I won't be able to upload my final design... the other book cover should be fine though

book cover review

I was given a task to choose a book cover I liked from a selection on a website. I chose this one because it stood out the most. The story is about a pathologist who goes a bit mad and loses all contact with humans and instead spends most of his time with squids. The story is kind of bizzare which fits in with the images all grouped together. The black cloud represents the main character who is always feeling under the weather. The typeface is nice and easy to read and the white stands out well against the black. This book was published in 2004 so its quite a new book and the modern design gives us that feeling. The whitespace in the background makes the images in the middle stand out more. I think the bundle of images would draw people to the book and make them want to read it because all of the images are not related at all so people would want to read on and find out what its all about.

This is my final infographic. My aim was an informal approach to young teens who drink underage trying to discourage them from drinking by showing them what could happen.

just finished doing my Infographic and I'm now away to start on my book covers. I have chosen the children's book category. The options are charlie and the chocolate factory, the BFG and the Twits. I have definitely decided to do the BFG but i am still brainstorming ideas as to whether ill do the twits or charlie. Will upload my Infographic shortly
