I was given a task to choose a book cover I liked from a selection on a website. I chose this one because it stood out the most. The story is about a pathologist who goes a bit mad and loses all contact with humans and instead spends most of his time with squids. The story is kind of bizzare which fits in with the images all grouped together. The black cloud represents the main character who is always feeling under the weather. The typeface is nice and easy to read and the white stands out well against the black. This book was published in 2004 so its quite a new book and the modern design gives us that feeling. The whitespace in the background makes the images in the middle stand out more. I think the bundle of images would draw people to the book and make them want to read it because all of the images are not related at all so people would want to read on and find out what its all about.
